Dear Presidents of the AAPPS Member Societies,
We are delighted to announce the AAPPS-APCTP C. N. Yang Award for 2025.
The AAPPS-APCTP C. N. Yang Award has been established to honor young
researchers with prominent research achievements and to promote the
development of leaders in physics in the Asia Pacific region.
• Each division chair from each member society with divisional
structure is invited to nominate one (1) candidate, or two(2)
candidates provided that they are not all of the same gender.
• The president of each member society without divisional structure is
invited to nominate up to three (3) candidates, or up to four (4)
candidates provided that they are not all of the same gender.
Nominees should demonstrate a commitment to both excellence in
scientific research, as evidenced by scholarly publication and
cooperation with scientists in physics in the Asia Pacific region.
The eligibility criteria of a candidate is as follows.
A candidate must have obtained a Ph. D. in physics or an equivalent
degree within 10 years from January 1 of the year of the award, not
counting the number of years equal to the number of a female
candidate’s children born after her Ph.D.
A candidate must have done the work to be awarded when s/he had an
affiliation to an institution in a country/region of AAPPS Member
Societies.
A candidate must have an affiliation to an institution in a
country/region of AAPPS Member Societies at the time of nomination.
The submission deadline for nomination is June 2, 2025. All
submissions must be sent to the AAPPS Secretary and the administrative
office of APCTP at award@apctp.org.

Kindly be informed that when a member of the Physical Society of Japan
is nominated to the C. N. Yang Award, it also automatically will be
considered for the AAPPS-JPS Award, unless the nominator explicitly
declines this option.
Additionally, the list of nominees from 2025 AAPPS-APCTP C. N. Yang
Award will be automatically considered for this year’s Award.
